With all the talk and rumors about the new DRF from Leica or Nikon or Zeiss or who knows who else - whats the outcome? Nothing at all? Noone introduced a new DRF? EVen our Head Bartender sort of implied that he heard something about something about Nikon. From what I can find - all the talk about new Leica S2. And its not even RF.
Based on all this, I think prices on RD1s's will be going back up again. Many seem to be sold lately, maybe even in hopes for a new rumored DRF, and now.....we are back to RD1 and M8. Hmmm. I wonder if they will even make a new DRF at all. By new, I mean a whole new camera, not an upgrade. Guess time will tell......but I think we have lots and lots of disappointed RF users this time around...

I dont think we will see a new DRF this time around, as much as so many people out there want one I dont think any company will answer the call which is sad because if you go to dpreview and look at the Nikon part of the photokina report it reads like stinky fish.

I was looking forward to a new DRF by anyone since I believe there seems to "large enough" gaps in this 1.5-player (Epson is the half) DRF market.

I am disappointed by the lack of competition in this market.

I think the point is that as it now stands, it's hardly a market...

the exhibition halls must have opened by now. anyone sneaked a peak at Nikon's booth ? isn't there a tiny dRF lying around somewhere

funny, i was at a maunufacturer day at a camera store at the end of May, testing out a lens on my R-D1. the Nikon rep practically ran to me, dragging his Oly friend with him. they oohed and ahhed and made loud noises to each other that one of their companies should come up with something like this.

i showed them the camera, let them play with it and take a few shots (it was the 35mm pre-asph Lux i eventually bought). they really seemed to fall for it hard... i was never quite sure if they were in truly smitten with the camera (they definitely thought it was ergonomically superior to the M8) or if, perhaps, Nikon or Olympus where coming out with their own digital RF...

who wants to wait for PMA, we want it now!

That new Oly concept camera for m4/3 looks neat though. I wonder if Fuji could take that klasse camera of theirs and stick a sensor in it for kicks, its not like they dont have any sensors that would work...
