Waiting for the post to bring my Canon VI-T, and wondering what lens ends up on your RF. The camera will arrive with a lens, and I have a Jupiter 8, also in the post. It's a given that different situations require a different lens, but which one is on your camera most of the time? cheers, Red R,

I'm not sure what a non-user lens would be, other than for sale. These days, I tend to use the UC Hexanon 35/2 and 50/2.4 the most.

I had hopes of having up up to three lenses to chose from : a canon 50/1.8, a Jupiter-8 2/50, or a 35 whatever I can swing on fleebay. The J-8 is here the wrong camera was sent so here I wait. My intent is to gain insight from co-members before I begin the one camera, one lens for a year. 😱 Once I choose the other cameras and lenses in my collection will be unused , for a year. I'm sure gonna miss that auto switch, and I don,t shoot anything but film. Thanks to everyone that shaired. RED

I would be inclined to have grown a familiarity and preference for a particular lens before dedicating myself to shooting solely with it for a year - you don't want the experience to be agony or else you might never complete the year.

I would probably be quite happy to shoot for a year with a J-8 but only if it was properly shimmed for the camera because the back/front focussing issues are a nightmare!

personally i have a super little Collapsible Summicron 50/2 (that i continually bang on about here on RFF) that would be my personal no. 1 choice for 1 camera 1 year.

I like my Serenar 35mm f2.8 quite a lot. Very compact, and great performance.

I just got a slightly damaged chrome Canon 50mm f1.8, and so far I'm impressed. I like the size, and coating looks beautiful. I don't have any results from it yet.

Thanks to Peter, and to everyone that participated. I may try to shim the J-8 if it needs it and choose between it and the canon 50/1.8 . Costs is a factor and I didn't want to spend extra right now. Looks like I'll need some filters anyway as none of my SLR stuff will fit. Sure do like the camera feels just right in the hand.
