So who out there has the M9 with the highest shutter count?

This couldn't be a pre purchase enquiry could it keith? ;)

I haven't checked recently, but i'm probably around 12-13k on mine which had 7.5k when i got it used.

I think though for a hobbyist, the shutter wearing out is probably least of my worries with my M9.. :)

With the exception of the 14x,xxx count they're all very low. 14x,xxx isn't really that high either. When I sold my last 1d2 canon it had well over 250000.

I'm actually surprised at how few I've shot but life has been quite busy the last few years and I've never been a machine gun shooter. For example: I have 4 paintings scheduled for my 4x5 today. That's 4 exposures and about 2 hours work. Today will be another day where my M9 may never leave its bag.

... will he still talk to the plebs do you think?

By plebs I am assuming you mean film users :D I note his recent post on having no time for film, so I think we are seeing his attempt at a graceful exit from analogue. However, we plebs are not as daft as he thinks we are (I hope) and I look forward to his "How long in Solms for a shutter replacement" / "Are these oil stains on my sensor" / "its fatter than I thought" / "Best lens for cats" posts that are bound to ensue followed shortly after by "Why I sold my M9" :D

You forget I had almost four trouble free years with an M8 ... I'm an optimist! :D

And too much film in the freezer to turn my back on analog shooting ... I suspect I'll probably shoot MF film via the Pentax when time allows.

Well that's the plan! :p

Not to mention this is only going to work if I can snag the M9 I have my eye on in Western Australia at the price I'm prepared to pay!

... well thinking about it I should have said plebes really, but actually I was only stirring the pot :)

:bang:
I really wonder, why this is important ? I see in these posts a lot of ego more than a lot of images. Can you really shoot 250000 images with one or two cameras in three years ? My math makes that out to be 158, images a day, over a 1000 days. Every day.
I still make a living in photography and I can recall people being aghast at my shooting so much film on a single shoot. 36 exp. E-6, not all keepers. I just wonder, that's all.
A very old story; ... a great fisherman caught a huge fish and found a lite lantern inside. I caught a huge Bass, 150 lbs. And we talk about this and decided, if I would off 75 pounds. He'd blow out the lantern.

I don't see ego, I see terror.

Like: maybe if I shoot it alot it will break and I have to send it away for 6 months.

I shoot alot not because I'm so great, just the opposite. I'm so crappy I need to choose from many LOL

But, I am shooting many less frames than with any other digital camera I've had---it's the way you focus and shoot i think.
