Hiya,
Are there any retailers of the soft release caps for the shutter release on an M2 in the UK?
I can order abroad but didn't know if there was something a bit more local.
Cheers,
Vicky

Vicky,
I have the TomA classic soft releases on my M2, M5, and M4-2 and they are the best I have found. You cannot go wrong with these, it's made like an original M2 accessory. Take a look at my avatar, you can slide a hairtie under it, so it dosen't fire accidentally. Fits perfectly, wrap the other end around a strap lug.

I tried several, and settled on the Match Technical "Beep" model. Easy and quick to get via the web. Good folks.

I ordered the mini soft release from The Classic Camera a while back but they sent me the regular size. I emailed them straight away about the issue but they never got back to me. Damn.

Many thanks everybody, I shall purchase one of those in a couple of weeks as I need it for lower light shooting, I find I can mostly shoot 1/15th fine so this may give me a hope of the odd decent 1/8th second shot. I wouldn't use it all the time (I think) as I really like the positivity of firing my M2's shutter at 1/60th or faster.
I picked up a Colorplan CF lens for my projector yesterday (bargain in the local Friday Ad) so my pennies are currently sapped. Damn this photography lark will be my undoing
Cheers!

Vicky, I often go down to 1/8 and even 1/4 sec. (normal or wide lens), but I use nothing in the release button. The expression "soft release" is misleading, as the spring strength to be overcome remains the same.
