Soft Releases and metering

Hi,

I have a question about soft releases for shutter buttons. Does the soft release pose problems for cameras where one depresses the shutter button partly to turn on the meter? Does it force one to have to feather the soft release to turn on the meter without tripping the shutter?

I've never encountered any problems.

No problem on two of my cameras with metering equiped with soft release....

They work just fine on my M7s but do require feathering on the MPs. It could be that the M7s have seen a lot more use and the MPs very little.

A soft release doesn't actually make the stroke any shorter nor make the shutter any lighter. It just improves the ergonomics a bit.
