Finally feeling well enough to begin posting photos again!
This footbridge spans the Saint Joseph River at Indiana University - Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It is a cable-stayed bridge.
I made this photograph of the bridge looking west through the towers that support the bridge deck.
The bridge, built in 2009, is called the Venderly Family Bridge. It is named for the wealthy family that donated part of the money used to build it.

Here's another photograph from the sale the demolition company had at Elmhurst High School a couple weeks ago.
The "Trojan Country" sign from the gymnasium was originally donated to the school by the Class of 1982.

The last of the series of photos I have made of the sunflowers that sprouted up next to my driveway last summer. I made this one back in January. The plants are still there, covered in snow. I may photograph them some more once I am 100% over my illness.

The American flag leaned against the tree is a wooden pallet with the flag painted on it. Pallet flags have become a very popular form of folk art in Indiana.
This place is on O’Day Road, north of Washington Center Road, in rural northwest Allen County, Indiana. Snow was falling while I was photographing it on this mid-March evening last year.

This bench and the colorful fence behind it sit next to Little Shop of Laura's, a secondhand shop on Broadway in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The shop's owner, Laura Hancock, is an artist. She painted the murals on the fence and the other bench that sits next to the building that is painted like the American flag.

I photographed this scene Monday afternoon in the West Main Street neighborhood in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Look closely at the yellow sign!
This working class neighborhood, just west of downtown, was once home to many factories. Today, most are gone; although street names like Manufacturers Avenue serve as a reminder of what was.

Stacks of old classroom clocks from Elmhurst High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The clocks were part of a sale of items from the closed school that was held last month in preparation for the building's demolition.

I've still been sick, so I haven't been on RFF much for the last couple weeks. I'm finally able to go out shooting again, so I have a lot of new stuff to post. I shot this Sunday afternoon with the new Olympus Pen-F I just bought.
Hyde Brothers is a used book store on Wells Street in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I have spent untold amounts of money here over the years, as my own collection of 2000+ books can attest.
The whole store is packed with books on floor to ceiling shelves that include rolling ladders to reach the top shelves, and more books are stacked on the floors in front of the shelves. Two cats patrol the aisles, demanding love from the customers and watching over the store.

Sounds like a great store. Hope they'll remain in business for many years to come. Did you pick a specific time for the photo or were you just passing by?

Specific time. I wanted to photograph it in bright sun, since I liked how the storefront's colors looked under that light. That meant going in the afternoon on a sunny day, since the store faces west.
I'd checked in on the store several times when the light was right, but there are usually cars parked on the street in front of it. The day I made this photo, there were no cars, so I could finally do it.

Love this store! Are you planning to make any photo of the interior? I guess it would be very interesting!

Robert,
I have been photographing the store for several years and have several photos of the inside online now, and several recent shots I need to finish editing. Here's a few of the older ones:

The bathroom door. The sign says "We're On Facebook!"

This is from 2012. The store's owner, Sam Hyde, is visible in the background on the right. Sam and his brother, Joel, founded the store about 25 yrs ago, but Joel left several years ago.

Scout is one of the two cats who live there now.

Smoky was a previous cat at Hyde Brothers. He died in 2014.

Yesterday afternoon, the sun coming through this 1950s-era Pontiac hood ornament made it glow with light! Pontiac automobiles used to have Indian chief hood ornaments because the Pontiac division of General Motors was named for a Native American leader who's tribe lived in the area where the city of Detroit was later founded.
Though it is from a Pontiac car, my neighbor has it mounted on his 1958 Chevrolet truck!

You certainly don't see this type of attention to detail much these days...

Yes, and all the trim, hood ornaments, logos, and nameplates back then were made of METAL, not the crappy plastic used today.

Here's another photograph of the Emoji Chair that sits in front of Fire Station #10 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The firefighters at the station periodically change the emoji face on the chair's backrest.
I made this photo of the chair, with a Santa Hat, right after Christmas.
