Some new photos from Fort Wayne

I'd buy that one. I like images that project peacefulness. Love to see it in B&W.

cheers, Bob

I've had the BW one up on my website for several years, and just found the color version in my archives and decided to post it too.

If you want to buy a print, I'll make you a deal. I need to make some money to get through the next week till I get paid on Friday from my teaching job, so if you want a print, I'll give you the deal I had in the RFF classifieds over the summer. 1/2 off the normal price of an unframed print. 6x9 is normally $150 and 10x15 is normally $300. So, you could have one for $75 or $150.

low-bobs-lafayette-street.jpg

This Low Bob's Discount Tobacco Town store is on Lafayete Street, in an inner-city area of Fort Wayne, Indiana. There are several other Low Bob's stores in the city, including two of them within half a mile of each other in Waynedale, the part of the city where I live. This is from my archive of stuff waiting to be edited. I shot it in 2004, and edited it today.

The old schoolhouse at the corner of Barkley Road and Fackler Road, in southeast Allen County near Monroeville, Indiana. This is one of several photographs that I have made of this lonely school, which has been used as a barn by the farmer that owns it. I made this photograph on a foggy fall morning in 2004.

Another of the abandoned schoolhouse on Barkley Road. This is out in the middle of nowhere in the southeast part of Allen County, same county the city of Fort Wayne is located in. There is still a lot of rural, empty land here. Of the 300,000 people in the county, 250,000 live in the city.

Magic Wand is a little restaurant across the street from the IGA grocery store in the small town of Churubusco, Indiana. The entire inside of the place is decorated with clowns!

When I was young, my family often went camping at Chain-O-Lakes State Park. We had to drive through Churubusco to get there, and we usually stopped for lunch and ice cream at Magic Wand. The place hasn't changed much in the last 30 years!

I photographed the place yesterday evening after my son and I had dinner there.

Another photo from the Magic Wand Restaurant in Churubusco, Indiana. The little boy was getting some crayons to color with. A lot of small-town restaurants in Indiana give kids crayons and coloring sheets to play with while waiting for their food. I made this photograph yesterday evening.

wabash-pond-1.jpg

I was in Wabash, Indiana, Monday afternoon because I was asked to judge a photography exhibit at the Honeywell Center's Clark Gallery, which will open in November, 2013. I made this photograph afterward.

This pond is behind a house on County Road 100S, east of County road 800W, a little west of the town of Wabash, Indiana. I saw it while driving on US-24, visible in the distance, and I was amazed at how the backlit flag glowed when seen from the other side.
