Good to see you again, Chris. I've missed your photographs. And like Michael said, I'm sorry to hear about your health problems.
Do you still sell prints? I'd love to buy one later on, when I have some more money.

I do sell prints; nearly everything on my website is available. I used to have an ad in the RFF classifieds selling unframed prints to RFF members at a discount. I sold them to people here for half the normal price (so a 6x9 print is $75 instead of $150, an 11x14 150 instead of $300). I'll do that for you if you want one.

I shot this outside the same school as the tree in the fog, but a couple of weeks ago during the first week of classes. I was running a few minutes late and got stuck in the line of school buses and cars (parents bringing kids to school) waiting to get into the parking lot, when I looked out the window and saw this rainbow! I grabbed my camera and made a quick shot out the open car window when the line began to move. After I got a parking space, I ran back to the road and shot this one handheld. I was late and didn't have time to set up a tripod! It came out great anyway.

Hi Chris. It's been so long since I've been on RFF. I didn't realize you'd been missing. Sorry to hear of your stroke. Sounds like you got treatment fast if you are back to work at a teaching job.The quicker a stroke is treated the less damage.
I had a rear cerebral stroke in November of 2008 from a job site injury the month before. I got to the hospital in an hour but they left me "cooking" for 6 hours before a doctor realized what was happening. (Don't go to the emergency room on a Saturday if you can avoid it) so mine ended up with more to recover from than would have been necessary but it's behind me now.
Take it easy, SLEEP a healthy amount and be patient and your energy should come back. After four and a half years at a desk job I started my door installation business back up, am on my feet all day working physically and am in better health than I've been in years.
I'll be looking forward to seeing more photos from you, you are always one of my favorites.

So sorry to read of your stroke. I know you have posted some on your fb page but didn't want to ask why you were not posting here. Good to see you back & praying for your health & strength, as well as your spirits to increase.I'm a substitute teacher now. I had a stroke in November, and have not felt well enough to work every day since then. I sold my Leicas this summer to pay the bills since I didn't work enough to get a paycheck over the summer. I hadn't shot anything in 35mm in over a year, so it wasn't a huge loss, but still sucked to have to let them go. I'm back to working now that school is back on, but I still work less than full time.
I've been shooting a lot more color this year because I haven't felt up to messing with chemicals to develop film (I have shot color with a Canon 5DmkII for a few years now). I've actually done a lot of photography, despite my health, in 2014.
I've got some other projects I'm working on too. I built a new website for my film developing times and my digital tutorials, and to advertise my private lessons. I've had a good number of people, including a couple of high school art teachers who have been made to teach photography, hire me to teach them. The site is still a work in progress. I'm slowly adding more stuff as time allows, since I'm trying to work as much as I can in the schools. I'm hoping to add some videos to the site soon to show how to do different photo techniques.

I shot this one a couple of nights ago. This little locally owned appliance store is in Waynedale, the area of Fort Wayne where I grew up, and where I live now.

Chris -- I always click on your threads -- guaranteed to see something fantastic. You really have a way of taking subject matter that many would walk past and elevating it through your photography into something special. Very discerning. Sorry to hear about your stroke and hope for your complete and speedy recovery.
I agree Dan.

Dan explain it much better than what I could do. I like your photos, there is something special inn their simplicity. Sorry to know about your stroke, nice to know you are recovering and giving your contribution on RFF.

Chris, good to hear you are on the mend, and getting some work. I wondered why there was nothing from you on here for so long. Strokes suck, but you can come back from them. I'm glad I can get vertical every day, and do most everything I could before, though there are always things that remind me I'll never be 100% again. Spell checkers catch most of my typing goofs.
What are you shooting with these days?

Thanks, Farly. I'm doing ok. Just tired a lot, and I have trouble with motor skills with my right hand, sometimes I have trouble holding things or doing things like writing with a pen.
I'm shooting with the Canon 5DmkII for color and the Mamiya 6 for black and white. I bought both a couple years ago. I sold my Leicas and their lenses over the summer to keep the bills paid, and I sold my Olympus lenses a few years ago for the same reason. Someday, I'll replace my Olympus lenses and start using my OM bodies again. Before I sold the Leicas, I actually had not shot a single roll of 35mm film in well over a year anyway; the Mamiya 6 is so easy to shoot handheld that it kind of killed 35mm's appeal for me.
