We get early morning fog very often this time of the year in Indiana. This is the sports fields behind one of the schools where I teach. I photographed it on my way in to work yesterday morning.

I struggled with the right hand too. I drop more things than I used too, and can't write anything for about an hour after doing anything strenuous. My biggest problem right off the bat was trying to understand what people were saying. Then I would get all my words mixed up when trying to speak, so I stayed quiet for a long time. Math skills went right in the trash bucket. And I was constantly having to rewrite things because I'd do things like putting the first letter of the next word in front of the word I was writing/typing. I have to slow down whenever I type or write, as it all just gets jumbled up if I don't. Memory lapses are the worst part.
But I just kept exercising my brain, rebuilding my communication skills. It's a slow progress, but progress none the less. I sometimes read my old Grievance submissions from when I was a Local Chairman in the union, to jog my memory of how that kind of writing is done. I don't need that anymore, but it helps to be able to understand what I was attempting back then.
Let me know (PM) if you get a hankering to start using those Oly's again.

This is the other photo I made in the fog Tuesday morning. This is the football field at one of the schools I teach at.

Glad you are recovering and posting your work again. I enjoy the documentation of your neck of the woods. One of this days I am going to get off the turnpike and at the very least drive through and see Fort Wayne. I have taken a couple of driving trips from Wisconsin to the east coast and fondly remember your work as I drive by the Fort Wayne signs on the Indiana tollway. Not the praying type, but I will keep you in my thought.

Fort Wayne is only about an hour drive south of the Indiana Toll Road. Next time you come through Indiana, get in touch with me a couple days ahead of time so I can arrange my work schedule; would love to meet you.

This old mailbox was behind an abandoned farmhouse, leaning against the house's weathered wooden siding. The house is at the corner of State Road 3 and County Road 500S in Huntington County, a few miles south of Markle, Indiana. I photographed it last Friday.

Lovely! Whatever camera or system you use there is always in your photos a visual quality (consistency? I don't know the exact english word) which makes them so interesting, beside knowing a place in the world so far from where I live. But when I see your pictures I know they are yours. Colours or grey tones, composition and simplicity there is something special!
Keep posting and be careful with your recovery, ciao

I photographed this swing set in the playground at the apartment complex I live in a few days ago. It was in the evening as the sun was setting behind me.

I shot this one last month in the small town of Wabash, Indiana. Most of the land in the town is relatively flat, but there is a steep hill a couple of blocks north of the Wabash River. This is on State Road 13, between Main Street and Market Street.

I grew up in FWA and my great-grandfather is buried in Wabash. I always enjoy seeing the old sights through your lens.

Thanks for the offer to meet up. I will keep it mind if I ever head east. In addition to your FWI work, I have enjoyed seeing your son grow up through your photographs.
Take care of your self.

A Marathon gas station at the corner of 3rd Street and Wayne Street (State Road 5) in the small town of Warren, Indiana. A lot of gas stations in Indiana have signs proclaiming that they sell cigarettes at "State Minimum Prices." That has always fascinated me. Government price regulation is usually designed to set a maximum price for a product, not a minimum!
I photographed it back in August.

These pickup trucks were in the parking lot beside 1st United Methodist Church on 3rd Street in the small town of Warren, Indiana.
The red truck belongs to the owner of DeWeese Appliance Service, a local business. Mr. DeWeese is a very devout Christian whose advertisements, business cards, and website all have the phrase "Troubled? Try Prayer" written on them.
The crosses on the truck are made of the labels from the bottles of purified water that Mr. DeWeese sells.
A crop of the image showing the crosses made of water bottle labels.

Nice shot of the old Ford, Chris. I'd buy it off of them, but I swore off blue cars a long time ago.

Thanks, Cassel. I am not knowledgeable about old cars, so I looked up photos online and didn't see the small difference in trim between the 55 and 56 models. After I saw your post, I looked up both years and saw the subtle difference. I've corrected the text on my website now. I'm glad you let me know, I'd never have noticed it!
