This is the side of a building on the corner of Toledo Street and Bronson Street (State Road 327) in the small town of Orland, Indiana.
The front of the building has storefronts, including a restaurant called Mister Bratz. This side of the building, facing Bronson Street, has the entrance to an apartment. Most of these old "Main Street" commercial buildings in small towns have apartments above, and sometimes behind, the storefronts.
The town of Orland has American flags flying from most of the light poles in the business district in the middle of the town.
Very cool...

Well, its officially Christmas season, so time to post a Christmas photograph!
Last year, I photographed this inflatable Santa in the front window of George's Quik Wash, a Laundromat in the Waynedale area of Fort Wayne, Indiana. As usual, I am way behind in editing and posting old work...

This is a very nice shot, Chris. Although it is easy to snicker at putting the Santa in the corner, I have to give credit to the owner or manager or patron who tried to bring some cheer to a laundromat, a normally cheerless place. Your photos do a great job of capturing little moments like this in your community. The affection shows through.

Mister Bratz Famous Hawaiian Brats is a locally-owned restaurant on Toledo Street in the small town of Orland, Indiana. Toledo Street is Orland's "Main Street."
Brats is short for Bratwurst; a traditional German food, and apparently a Hawaiian food as well!

The J.G. Parker building is an old brick commercial building on Toledo Street in the small town of Orland, Indiana. Toledo Street is Orland's "Main Street."
The building has two storefronts: The Orland Party Store, a liquor store, and the Lewis and Associates Law Office.
I photographed it in the warm evening light, shortly before sunset.

Great image! Reminded me of an Edward Hopper scene with oversize cigarattes in the parking lot.

They do look like cigarettes, don't they! I hadn't noticed that before.

On your "Mr. Bratz" photo, it's good to see they eat something else in Hawaii besides Spam.

Still loving it! All the recent work I've posted was shot with the Pen-F, except the photo of Santa in the Laundromat. That's an old image from last year, before I bought the Pen-F. It was done with a Canon 5DmkII that I sold to another RFF member after I got the Olympus. I still have an enormous backlog of old photos from the last couple yrs to finish editing; my health problems have caused me to get way behind, so I'll be posting more stuff shot with the Canon alongside the Pen-F work for a while.

Cheers. Good to see you are enjoying it. Get well and keep shooting.

This is the iconic Indian head hood ornament on a green 1951 Pontiac Chieftain sedan.
The car, which needs restored. sits behind a house on Roanoke Road, just north of County Line 1100N, in rural Huntington County, Indiana. It is just north Roanoke, a small town in the northeast corner of the county.
I photographed it yesterday afternoon.

On November 24, 2018, Sears closed their store at Glebrook Square Mall in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I made this photograph of the store's auto center just a few days after the store closed, and they had already taken down the signs!

This abandoned brick church is located at Butler Center, in rural Dekalb County, Indiana. Butler Center isn't a town, just a crossroads with a couple of houses, an abandoned one-room school, and this church. It is the geographic center of Butler Township, at the intersection of County Road 11 and County Road 60, a few miles south of Garrett.
The church was built in 1894 as the "Methodist Protestant Church." It is in bad condition, with several broken windows. The back of the church's apse has a garage door installed in it!

My father's old Sears Craftsman tool chest sits just inside the door of his garage.
It, and many of the tools in it, are older than I am! There is an Air National Guard bumper sticker on the front of the tool chest. My dad served as a jet fuels specialist in the Air National Guard for 24 years.
The small two-drawer chest on top is a separate tool box. It is also older than I am. When I was a kid, my dad bought a new one like it for me. I still store my own tools in it!

This building is on South Street (State Road 101), next to the Patriot Pizzeria building, in the small town of Monroeville, Indiana. The building appears to be vacant.
Monroeville is a small farming community in southeast Allen County, not far from the Indiana-Ohio state line.

I photographed it on a sunny morning back in September.
