Hi everyone... I'm still a newbie here (and with cameras) but have really enjoyed sharing in the R-D1 enthusiasm and thought I'd share a few photos from my recent trip to Tokyo. Most were shot with the R-D1 and a 35mm Nokton or 12mm f/5.6, but there are a few M8 + 35 'lux photos here and there.

Anyhow, any thoughts, comments, whatnot would be appreciated. Unfortunately, with the new job I just started, I won't be able to spend as much time taking photos or attending photography classes as I have been, but I will say these last 6 months jumping into photography, especially with the R-D1 have been really a lot of fun.

Best,

nice gallery, good images, lots of good movement in the pictures. did you do your own bw conversion or just let the camera handle it?

Marvelous sense of place with those photos. I really enjoyed them. Did you shoot film or digital? If film, what was it?

since it's posted in the rd1 forum, i can only assume it is digital, also metions using an rd1 in the initial post

They bring memories back. I hope you can get to more that the Shinjuku to Ebisu strip on your next visit. Tokyo is an amazing town.

Hi, excellent photos, you excel at capturing movements.

Just a thought, if you remove/replace some of the similar ones, it would make an even better gallery.

Hi all,

Thanks for the very kind comments. I really enjoyed being back in Tokyo (I worked there for about three and a half years) and "seeing" it from behind a camera was a lot of fun. Japan is such an easy/great place to photograph... it's almost like it demands being shot.

shadowfox, thanks for the thought, it is bloated at the moment. I'm trying to figure out which ones I want to keep... but I imagine it should be culled down to like 8-12 or so...

Best,

-Jason

Great shooting. I enjoyed all the photos, I can see that you had a good time taking them, hope you can find time soon to post more pictures. 🙂

Your series of excellent images brought back memories from my stay in Nagoya a few years ago. I enjoyed the most the sense of motion and when there were back to back images taken seconds apart. Well done.
