...first set (Summaron 35/2.8) was taken near and in Sapporo station. I was out with my Japanese friend and while he mastered his Hasselblad on a tripod I tried the Summaron 35/2.8 on my M3.

The following was in my favorite bar in Sapporo with the Summaron 35/2.5 (M3) with the counter as "tripod" (long exposures, 4 sec @ f/8):

I am not sure if I will keep these lenses (thinking about reducing my kit) but like the signature of them.

Very niceeeeeeeee! Was this the one with goggles?
I always wanted to try Summaron 2.8, but I need one w/o goggles. Loveley images though. I'd keep this one if you like how it handles.
How does it do with flare and colour film?

Krosya, thank you !! Both my Summarons are with googles (and I also like them on either my M4 or M4-P since the 50mm frame lines are easier to see wearing glasses). I haven't observed any problem with flare yet and today I will receive the first color (negative) film back. Keen to see how the f/2.8 handles color :)

These are really nice. I like the first one the best -- the sharpness of the background contrasts w/ the blur of the figure. I'd say you've got one nice lens there, and you know how to use it!

Bingley: Thank you !! Still thinking how to reduce my kit ... The Summarons are nice lenses indeed.

Fine images. I find my Summaron 3.5 to be sharp and of moderate contrast as well. And the Summaron 2.8, which alas I do not have, was the lens all those 35 Summicron 2.0s were intended to be.

i'd be very happy to have taken those shots with that lens ... lovely quality to them. i'd want to print a few, having seen what they look like on a monitor.

In the last shot, I guess you meant to say "35mm 3.5" and not 35mm 2.5".
Yes, the photos really look nice. My 35mm 3.5 is being cleaned for optimal performance by someone.

Again, thank you all a lot for the kind comments !! Indeed, it should read "Summaron 35mm f/3.5" in the last shot ...

I received one color negative film back, and the colors look OK to me (Summaron 35mm f/2.8). Keeping these lenses or not .... (I also have the Summilux 35mm pre-ASPH, which I really like...)

Hey Nice shots! The 3rd is great!

The summilux 35 pre-asph is an outstanding lens. It definitely has that "leica" look if such a thing has to exist. I have a hard time differentiating my lenses while looking at images but Three lenses really stand out: The Noctilux wide open, the Summarit 1.5 and the 35 summilux pre-asph at any stop. It's just unique.

Thank you !! :) I totally agree about the Summilux 35 pre-asph. It is an outstanding lens and has a very special signature. Now I only have to make up my mind about the Summarons ....

Hi, Maddoc, very nice shots. My preferred are the last two. I own also the goggled Summaron 35 mm f/ 2,8 and i prefer this lens to my VC Ultron 35 mm f/ 1,7.

Merry Christmas to you too Vincenzo and a Happy New Year !

I would like to try the Summarons on an M5 but .... for some time no new camera, the last purchase was a little expensive :)

maddoc, love the images. I just recieved my SS M3 sn 1034677 with Summaron 35 2.8 attched. I haven't held an M3 to shoot since the early 70's. Inspiring frames. Any advice on the use of this lens and exposure control. Thanks, Ben
