Just thought I'd share some snaps from the elephant nature park near Chiang Mai, Thailand. My wife and I spent the day there a couple of weeks ago and I just got the scans back from the lab. It's a really cool place. There are many elephants that are "out of work" since logging was banned in Thailand. The owner of the park has purchased many of the animals, and many others are staying at the park to recover, or because their owners don't have any space for them. I'd highly recommend a trip there if you're in Chiang Mai. You get to bathe them in the river, and feed them. Pretty cool!
You'll probably notice the framing is a bit off. I've been shooting with a new-to-me Zeiss Ikon for about a year. Most often I use a 35mm lens, but I tried out my newish C Sonnar 50mm for these shots and often didn't pay enough attention to the frame lines moving for parallax correction

Some b/w. I scanned these myself with a crappy flatbed, but I don't mind how soft and contrasty they turn out. Still saving for an enlarger, etc.

Nice work.
Nice work.
I especially like the b & w, lots of "elephantality" there. Gorgeous creatures.
