Ok this is a bit early, but rumor has it that Sony is going to announce the NEX7 at Photokina to compete with the Panasonic GH2.

NEX7 will probably look like a mirrorless, shrunken A550 with EVF, more manual controls, and in-body image stabilization. Add a few more video modes and a tweaked sensor, of course. I know a lot of us aren't entirely happy with the NEX3/5 setup as consumer cameras, but the NEX7 *might* have it all (if you can live with the DSLR styling).

This could be the year when the big DSLR players jump into the EVIL market. Sony has already shown its cards... I don't think it's a question of IF Canon and Nikon will play, it's a matter of WHEN.

Specs close to what I like, if they also let the perfect EVF rotate upwards like the KM DiMage A2 had and Olympus E-P2 has. The screen doesn't have to flip and can be minimal. I tend to think that camera engineers should start to think about a separate flat, display + storage part carried in your pocket, WiFi connected. They exist but I mean an integrated solution: reducing that capacity on the camera and enhance what can be done with the EVF . The last compromise stage of a big display and compact camera is already reached in the Nex design.

It sounds more like wishful thinking on the part of photographers rather than a leaked Sony product roadmap.

On the other hand, I'm in the same boat as the wishers.
