Sport Finder, anyone still use it?

See my post:Nostalgic for Koni/Rapid Omaga.

I used the Rapid Omega with its 180mm lens for aerial photography-the sportsfinder was invaluable for aerial work.

I used the sportsfinder on my Rollei3,5E all the time to shoot eye level(it doesnt take a prism).

When you need to wait for a subject to move into the frame for the shot, the sportsfinder is invaluable.

The focusing lens on my Rollei Magic is way out of kilter but the Xenar 3.5 focuses perfectly by scale so I use the sports finder. I have a 4.6 x 6 cm adapter for the camera and the finder and find that it is much faster than using the conventional focusing on my Autocord.

There was one on an old Rolleiflex I had in the early 60s that I used occasionally. There was a small circular concave mirror in the centre that you could centre your eye in, if you had time.

I used to use them on Superspeed Graphics and on Rollei/Yashicamat twin lens cameras. It works fine for most purposes, after all, rangefinder viewfinders are just an approximation of the view.

I plan to build a point and shoot 4x5 soon and might just use a sportsfinder during the experimental stages. Later I would use a brightline finder because it is more compact and easier to slip into a camera bag.
