Here are the standards zooms I have owned and used:
Kiron 28-70mm f/3.5 to f/4.5 (for Pentax ME)
Minolta 35-80mm f/4 to f/5.6 AF (received as gift)
Minolta 28-80mm f/4 to f/5.6 AF (received as gift)
Nikkor 43-86mm Zoom f/3.5 AI (sold) (worst zoom I have ever used)
Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5 to f/5.6 G AF VR (great performance at low price)
Nikkor 28-70mm Zoom f/2.8 D AF (my personal favorite)
Nikkor 35-70mm Zoom f/2.8 AF
Sigma 35-70mm Zoom-Master f/2.8 to f/4 (broke after fall down stairs)
Vivitar 35-85mm Series I AI f/2.8
