Standard lenses

We are halfway through!

#33: Nikon Micor-Nikkor-P 55mm/3,5 (SLR)
#34: Schneider-Kreuznach Xenon 50mm/2 (RF)
#35: Canon Lens 40mm/1,9 (P&S)
#36: Minolta Rokkor 45mm/2 (SLR)
#37: Leitz Elmar 5cm/3,5 (RF)
#38: Voigtländer Color Skopar 40mm/2,8 (RF)

Sometimes I´m a little embarrassed to own such a pile of lenses but then I think of all the little ones I rescued from the trash bin and feel better.
The Elmar has something special, but there are some others too. I think of the Zuiko 50mm/1,8 or the humble Domiplan 50mm/2,8 or the Micro Nikkor 55mm, or ... I should better stop now!

I know what you mean I've rescued a few too. I have a few favorites like you: Pentax Super Takumar 50mm f1.4, and hard to believe I like this one so much a f4.0 Macro Takumar 50mm (pre-set). Keep them coming, I did check out the Linhof 220 page, crazy camera really nice photos from that RF.

The Linhof 220 doesn´t get enough exercise for sure but my mood is very 135-ish these days. I will try to post some more of my older Linhof pictures!

#39: Olympus F.Zuiko 50mm/1,8 ("Silver nose") (SLR)

#44: Pentax SMC 50mm/1,4 (SLR)

#45: Industar-22 50mm/3,5 (RF)
#46: Porst Color Reflex Auto 55mm/2,8 (SLR)
#47: Chinon 55mm/1,4 (SLR)
#48: Zeiss Tessar 50mm/2,8 (Scale focus)
#49: Olympus D.Zuiko 40mm/2,8 (Scale focus)
#50: Pentaflex Auto-Color 50mm/1,8 (SLR)

A really nice read, thank you!
I´m mainly a 35mm guy, so
my list of standard lenses for medium format is not a long one:
Rolleiflex T with Xenar 75mm/3,5 (6x6cm)
Agfa Isolette III with Solinar 85mm/4,5 (6x6cm)
Linhof 220 with Technikar 95mm/3,5 (6x7cm)

currently evaluating an apotar in a isolette II ... first roll of film is still in.

the xenar (mine is in a rolleicord IVa) is a nice one, quite similar to the tessar in my rollei 35. no surprise here.
then a 80mm hasselblad planar, and it's counterpart, the 75mm diana lens :-D.

so, i'm also primarily a 135 guy, but i like 120 more and more.

Out of all the glass listed I only have experience with the lowly Zuiko 50mm. Have a couple of 1.4's including a silver nose but no 1.8's. Great lenses throughout the range.

Thank you all for the nice words.
narsuitus, that´s a fine collection with some lenses I never used.

Yesterday I bought a Retina IIIC with the Schneider Xenon 50mm/2. This is my third Retina and it´s becoming dangerous - they are such sexy beasts!
Another seller on this fleamarket had a Topcon RE-2 with the Vivitar 21mm/3,8. I like the camera very much, so a Topcon standard lens will be added to my list sooner or later.

Coming next: The Standard Zoom lenses between 25 and 105mm.
When I started photography in 1979 the 50mm standard lens was often replaced by a so called standard zoom, mostly in the 35-70mm range. My first zoom was the Tokina 35-70mm/3,5 on my Nikon FM. In my actual collection I have 15 of these lenses starting on the wide side with the Tokina 25-50mm and ending on the long side with the Sigma 28-105mm.
