Step-down ring on the Mamiya 6 150mm lens

Has anyone tried using a 67-58mm step-down ring on their 150mm lens to use 58mm filters for the whole system? Thanks.

That never occurred to me. Due to the narrow angle of view, it might work. I will try it out this weekend.
