sticky shutter button on Bessa R ?

lately I have noticed that if i press the shutter release very slowly, the button bottoms out without releasing unless I continue pressing very hard.

Death knell for the R ? or easy fix?

I'm no tech and have never had the top plate off my Bessa. But it IS a mechanical release so hard to see this would be a "death knell." It's got to be either a bent or slipped linkage. Find out if you can get it adjusted/repaired locally. Based on the Nikon FM10 so any camera repairer should be able to fix a shutter release.

It will be easier to remove the bottom plate. Maybe the shutter release extends all the way though the camera.
