I have a one-cam Elmarit-R and a two-cam Summicron-R. I am trying to figure out how to use these lens on a R4. I read that these lens can be used as a Stopped-Down mode. Does that mean that instead of Program Mode, I merely use the Manual mode with the Exposure indicator and mannualy adjust the aperture / speed ? thanks raytoei

You'll need to focus w/ the lens wide open, then stop the lens down to your desired aperture, then shoot. Not a big deal, but slower. It may work in P mode. Try it and see. If not, you'll need to use M mode and manually set your speed as well as your aperture. Lot easier to focus though if you do that part w/ the lens wide open..
