Is there actually a strap that can be used with the Voigtlander Vitomatic cameras that have the strange strap lugs? What kind of strap would be used; does anyone know?

Thanks for this post! I too was recently wondering about finding a strap for my Vito B and my Vito IIa. I have the cases for the camera, with attached straps, but they truly are never-readys. That, plus they are in very tender condition, although cosmetically nice. Don't want them to break!
Nice Vitomatic, by the way. My two Vitos have the 3.5 lens.

These look really interesting. Any idea on where to find them?

You have to make your own using spare Hasselblad clips.

Shooter of Film...
The Mamiya 645 series SLR's (medium format) use a similar type clip...there were two sizes available...one with a square opening and the other was/is round but they both work on round pegs...did that make sense???

From time to time I get a camera that has straps with the punched holes with the slits. They also have a rivet that is used to connect the strap back on to itself after passing through a ring on the camera lug. I suppose they could also be used without the rivet on the Voigtlanders. Check any other cameras you have to see if you already have such a strap. Or check around the junk shops for cheap cameras with the hole/slit type of strap.

There were a lot of thin synthetic straps from the 1960s and 1970s (not the hippie straps) that have this type of slit. They generally were connected by small metallic connectors with double-ended mushroom caps.
I'm using one on a Zeiss Ikon Ikonette, which has these type of strap lugs on the body.

Thanks to everyone. I did track down that Op/Tech makes the Super Pro Strap in two models. A for 3mm lugs and B for 4mm lugs. I tried to measure the lugs on the Vitomatic IIa and the are slightly over the 3.1mm of the A. The 4.11mm B strap seems like it would work better. Would anyone have any experience with the Op/Tech strap?

I'll probably be getting a Super Pro Strap B in the near future.
Thanks again.

I have an OP/TECH Super Pro Strap B for my Pentax 67. I also
have a Vitomatic IIa. I never thought of using the strap on the
Vitomatic but I just tried it. It fits but it's loose and sloppy and
comes off much too easily. I would never trust it on the
Voigtlander.
Another suggestion: The bottom half of the Vitomatic case
has its own strap lugs. At least the one I have does. They're
large rectangle loops that most any strap connector could fit.

Retro,
Thanks for the good info and for giving this a try. I will have to go with the bottom half of the case for now. Maybe later on I'll get a Super Pro Strap A and do a bit of filing to it to make it fit.
