I just purchased a black nickel Leica F with a Summar that needs some internal cleaning.
Does anyone on RFF have a link or other knowledge about the disassembly process?
I read the few posts here on RFF on the topic, but perhaps something new has come to light since then.
Someone mentioned that it's similar to the collapsible Summicron in terms of repair. Is that true?
I'm only looking for DIY tips, not recommendations for a repairman.
Thanks.

I think, I used this link to clean mine.

I used that article as well. As you probably know, the Summar has a reputation of having rather soft glass - be gentle.

Thanks a lot. That was easy.
I'm already done with it.
The lens elements cleaned up nicely.

Congratulations. It's an interesting lens if the front glass isn't scratched, and you've gotten all the haze out inside. Mine is uncoated, but crystal clear (I cleaned it), and flare is not a problem with it.
