Summaron 35 f 2.8

Indeed if you want more cornersharpness you'll have to stop down to 5.6 or beyond. But the summicron V1 wasn't any better btw.
btw I think your picture is tack sharp Erik, guess it was taken at higher f-stop considering the 400asa?

btw I have edited my first post, since the second shot was taken fully open @f2.8 (I keep records of my shots and just had them checked)

btw on the same roll I shot pictures with a Jupiter 8 which - I just checked them - gives the same soft cornersharpness albeit @ higher f-stops: there might be a little problem with the pressure plate from the Zorki.

Thank you, Ron!

Just for a comparison: the Summicron 35mm f/2 v1 (eight elements) is an impressive performer too.

Leica M2, Summicron 35mm f/2 v1, Tmax400.

Erik.

Now one of the stranger uses for a Summaron 35f2.8. For a while I had the complete Post Camera outfit. Fixed focus Summaron on a Leica M2 (shutter speed fixed at 1/60s too. A HUGE funnel shaped contraption with two flashes in it. It was used for taking pictures of postal meters and phone meters in Germany and Switzerland. The whole thing was built by ALOS in Switzerland. BC Hydro (local power generation company) got one to test, converted to 110v too. After a couple of tries they relegated it to a closet and later sold it for peanuts. I picked it up and decided to try it out. Loaded it with PanF (used a flash meter to check out the flash's power). Very big, very clumsy and not even a good portrait camera. This was in the early 90's - hence the truly ugly glasses.

In answer to the OP, it is difficult sometimes to distinguish between the rigid Summicron 50 from 1966 and the Summaron 35/2.8 LTM - at least I find it so in the examples below. The differences we see (or think we see!) here and there on the net can often be attributed to the film, development and/or scanner & scanning techniques:
