Erik -- this reminds me so of this one:

Great pictures, Giganova, they're all great. Fantastic shots. Are the pictures from Buenos Aires or also from other places? I would love to go there for making pictures!

I love that very famous picture of Cartier-Bresson that is shot with an Elmar 35mm, btw. I never realized that the pictures are similar to each other. A great honor for me.

Erik.

Hi Erik --

I have been to Argentina 8x now. Buenos Aires, where I usually go, is an amazing city, so full of life! Last time I only took my M4 with 50/2 rigid and loved this minimalistic setup. No fussing around, no distractions.

Regarding the softness of my Rigid, good point that my scanner (Plustek) might be a bit out of focus. I have another scanner and will try to re-scan one negative to compare the sharpness of my scanners.

Amazing photographs!

I use an Epson V600 Photo. I scan my pictures @ 3200 dpi /16 bit grey. I never had any sharpness issues.

I find more and more I miss my good old 50mm Collapsible or at least the look of it. But I don't miss the collapsing part so I am going to pony up big time for a mint 50 F2 Rigid...wow have they gone up in price.

Buy it when you can.
I think Leica old lenses will increase their prices, taking consider that the popularity of mirrorless camera which encourage people to try different lenses.

What’s the going rate these days?

I searched for quite a bit before I settled on a mint- with a CLA by DAG at Igor Camera for just under $1,300. I think this is the only combination of optics and M3 I will need from here on out.

Just acquired an M3, Rigid Summicron 50 combo. The M3 dates to 1965, the Summicron to 1959.

I'm not a fan of infinity locks, but the one on this lens doesn't seem too obtrusive/obnoxious. I might be able to get used to it.

Do users of the rigid like the infinity lock? Have any removed it and been happier?
