I`m about to buy a Summicron DR without the closeup unit. I intend to use it on my M6 classic, 0.85. The lens is the "first generation". A friend of mine said it probably wouldn`t fit. Is he pulling my leg, or what ?
Didn`t know that... It was sold as m6TTL, but when I got it, I saw the wheel to adjust shutterspeed was regulary sized, instead of the big wheel that I thought was the easiest way to recognize a TTL... It doesn`t say ttl on the hotshoe either. I don`t know... M6, 0.86 it is, that`s for sure! Can't help on teh lens, sorry, but just a small correction: if your M6 ix x0.85 - it isn't classic - it is M6TTL. Classic are only regular x0.72 (unless you customized it to x0.85, dunno if it is possible at all)..

What the use ?I`m about to buy a Summicron DR without the closeup unit.
It's Bakelite that plastic stop block. It breaks very easily. 😉you have to unscrew that little plastic stop block on the goggles ...
Guys, correct me if I'm wrong.
I also have both, and what the goggles do is give you a closest focus distance of <0.7M which can be really useful. The rigid however has a closest focus of 1M and that darned tab with the infuriating infinity lock. 😕If you don't need a close-up lens, buy the rigid Summicron instead.
(I have both, so i think i know a bit about) 😉
but don't buy it without the glasses, it's very nice in the close up range!
