Erik, How do the 50/1.5 Summarit and the Xenon compare to the V1 Summilux?

What I know, is that these lenses have about the same composition of the optical elements, but use other, older, types of glass with lower refractive indices. The corrections are thus on a lower level.

Junku Nishimura uses a Summarit 50mm f/1.5 however with great succes.

Early Xenons are problematic because the lack of coating.

I particularly like the combination of sharpness on the subject’s eyes and smooth background softness on this one Erik. Congratulations on the new lens and getting excellent results.

Very very nice Erik. I recently also acquired a version 1 50 Summilux in chrome along with a version 2 35 Summilux to use with my M9M and M10M. If I use a medium orange filter, as I live next to the ocean and want more pronounced cloud contrast, will it detract significantly from the low contrast and glow of these pre ASPH lenses? (Also just received a 75 Summilux and a Voigtlander Nokton 35 1.4 II SC to try with the Monochroms.)
