Just looked on 'My photos' and notice that pictures are now ordered as to the date that I posted them rather than in the order of being viewed my members. The first photo, in the top left corner, was the one last viewed. I found this to be a useful feature because it was an indication of what was attracting attention.
Is the present date order the result of the transfer over into the New Gallery, or is this how it has been constructed?

Ferider, yes. You are missing something 🙂 Just click on the Top menu gallery and select 7 days and you are good. You don't need to scroll through all the pictures just to see the date. However, if you leave the exif window open, you will see the date there.
Without quoting all the above.
The database of lenses is managed by a site admin. I know Stephen is working on a comprehensive list which will be used eventually.
The camera list is self managed by users adding data to their uploaded pictures or from EXIF. Noritsu is the camera stored in the EXIF when someone gets their images scanned like at Costco or something like that. [...]
I'm with snausages in recognizing the effort and resources that went into furthering the rff experience for us all - but I'll also align myself with the criticism of the "look" - the new one is hard on the eyes with blue battling the greyscale etc. I hope that when the issues of functionality simmer down that jorge and team (?, just jorge) have a chance to go back and smooth out those rough edges. For me too, the old rff gallery's look was a haven in a world of gaudier sites.RFF is one of my favorite sites to interact with, largely because of the great work shared in the gallery. And I've always loved the gallery's clean aesthetic for its uncluttered presentation of our photos. It's a cool idea to be able to search by equipment, but I'm sad to see the old gallery format go. In addition to the jaggedly-sized new thumbnails others have mentioned, the individual photo page itself is quite distracting from the work. The five big, blue tabs on the right edge of the posting as well as other large thumbnails off to the side make it pretty hard on the eyes to concentrate solely on the work. Also, are all of the old comments now gone? That'd be a bummer.
I appreciate all of the work that goes into this (blessedly free) site, but I thought it might help to share feedback since the gallery experience is, for me, the single most important aspect of RFF.
I don't know why very many people would really want to search for pictures taken with a particular lens or camera. RFF kept things simple, and I liked things that way.

I also added a feature request, which you can see in the upper right corner: an ability to turn off the big, featured photo, so we can see just the gallery. Doesn't have to be a button on the page, just indicating that I'd appreciate that being added.
That is there now. But you are better off just going straight to the gallery.
Thank you. I guess part of my confusion was some of the UI choices that are modally presented. I was, most typically, clicking the "Gallery Home" link up top.
That link seems to take you to the last view of the gallery that you specified, so if you were looking at Random Photos, it will take you to Random Photo layout. That's not what I would expect: I expect "Gallery Home" to always be the same. Really, I expect the "Gallery Home" link to give me what the "Complete Gallery" link does.
When you look at "Latest Photos" link, the "Complete Gallery" link is not there, so there was no path to knowing about the "Complete Gallery" layout from that view.
"Latest Photos" and "Random Photos" don't have the full set of sort options on the right side, they just have Zoom and Jump options. Given that the "Gallery Home" link wasn't giving me the "Complete Gallery" view that I was expecting, it was odd seeing the pointers to those options. I tried a couple different browsers before I found the "Complete Gallery" link, and finally saw them.
I guess I'd say I'd have found the following a bit easier:
1. "Gallery Home" shows "Complete Gallery".
2. The links for "Random Photos", "Latest Photos", and "Complete Gallery" are always there.
3. The Zoom/Jump/Views/Date/Simple/Detailed links are always there.
4. The "Featured On/Featured Off" links are always there.
Is there a function to add a selection from the Gallery to mark it for the next Monday's weekly Gallery? TIA.
You dont need that one in your camera list. The nex6 is digital and thus a file with EXIF data will pick it up. The my cameras is really for film cameras or files that do not contain exif data.Did not see Sony NEX6 on the list of 'My Cameras'
