'Just a note of thanks to Jorge, et al for a fine site that has been of immense joy and a source of knowledge and instruction for me.

I'll second the sentiment of this thread. I don't post much.. but it's pretty much a daily staple in my internet routine. I've gained so much from this site.. still learning.

I am not going to join the wagon, I hate this place. Just 3 short years ago I was perfectly happy with my Nikon and Bronica SLR's and a Super Graphic 4x5. Then I bought a QL-17 GIII for peanuts in a thrift store. Started searching the internet and found this place. I have been here since the RFF hats were WHITE and my spare bedroom and closets were empty of cameras and I actually had 2 cents to rub together that I did not want to spend on cameras. I hate this place.

Wayne, I too hate this place. I too have a white hat. I too have no room anywhere... it's all taken over by cameras, photography books, rolls of film, slides in boxes and all kinds of photo paraphernalia.

So, Jorge... it's your fault.

Sorry, I'm moody now, and pickin' on ya! 🙂 Thanks for the patience!! 😉

It's just like golf; I know if I get that $1100 set of clubs I'll break 85......or missing a pool shot, MUST have been that defective cue....all Jorge's fault for sure.

As a new member, I must say, my knowledge of RFs has increased almost as fast as my cc balance🙁 . I do appreciate the sharing of info!

And with wit from the likes of Wayne, who could stay away.

me too!!

me too!!

...well, me too. double for me. 😛

this place just makes me crazy-er. i get so many good ideas and insights it almost numbs the senses ( and diminishes the cents's with GAS). it's a good thing i don't log on more than three or four or nine times a day !! i know my limits....heh.

before rff i didn't know the lure of fsu cameras. or misc folders or...😛

didn't have a place i could surf up to where there were more languages spoken than i have toes.

didn't know of a community so eager to share photographic and other interests so freely. a place where cameras, guns, (fountain )pens,
motorcycles, wine, coffee, travel, and other arcane and mundane subjects, objects of desire, etc would fit under one roof - yowee, talk about inclusion.

thank you jorge, back alley, rover and all the moderators my feeble brain can't bring up right now.

i think i've probably said enough...hah. 😛 😛 😀 😀 😀

hasta la vista, adieu, dazvidanya, fino al prossimo tempo, auf wiedersehen, and later y’all

BTW--I just found out that you can change the screen color of RFF!!!!!! hahahahahaha. Am I happy I don't have to look at that BLACK screen anymore. Compared to "the other white meat" (unnamed) forum, this place is more fun and lighter. My next challenge is to figure out how to post to the gallery.

I also have to thank for this forum. I m not a frequent poster but at least I read a few minutes or a couple of hours (this is varaible !) quite every day.

Grazie e ciao,
robert

Not to get too maudlin, but I will give credit where it is due. After seeing the alternatives to RFF (namely DeviantArt and leica pnet), I've come to really appreciate the abode that Jorge has provided for us.

So here is a toast to both Jorge and Joe:

1) Jorge for his hands-off approach; and
2) Joe for his hands-on approach

Just the right combination of management to make it all run smoothly 🙂
