Thanks. If you mean posting 41, it was a CZJ 5cm 2.0 which is uncoated. I love the rendition from the CZJ 1.5 and the 2.0 lenses. No clue why anyone would look elsewhere for a classical look.

So what ????

So what ????

Raid,
I have to say that little girl gets more beautiful with every post ... so what the heck do you look like ? ... or is it her 99% her Mother ?

Super nice work of course ... I guess I was just wondering?

Ho Ho !!

The Pentax 43mm Glow.

This is getting ridiculous. I see mostly hazy shots taken by unsharp lenses. Most of these are definitely not examples of the "Leica glow". Where's the "pop", the separation of the subject from the background, the "aha! that's IT!" moment? Sorry for the somewhat crude comparison, but it's like trying to define pornography. It may be extremely difficult to describe what it is, but when you see it you know.

I also agree with greg- gb hill- that my Elmar 50/3.5 shows the effect in some shooting conditions.

Ho Ho Ho .... chatting about pornography on Christmas Day?

Take it easy, George. Don't you understand it when people here are taking it easy?

You made your point, and I fully understand it. To many people, what is meant by "Leica Glow" is a myth.

Ho Ho Ho back at you!
Steve,
The results of the laws of genetics can be cruel and they can be kind to people. In our case, my daughters seem to have taken lots from my wife [who looks better than me], and they picked a few things from me that have not totally damaged the way they look!

Thanks, Santa.

Sorry to bring this old thread back but I really like this look but the info on the "glow" is very scattered... Which lens can create these look. Specifically which 50 lux?

"Glow" appears with my older Summicron collapsable, DR and version lll images when I overdevelop in Rodinol. Has it gone away with the current Summicrons? The 90mm has yet to betray itself in my hands.

Thanks for all the great (and less great) shots of "glow" = preferred flare. It has opened my foto eyes a bit wider. I especially like Nando's Summar shot (and thanks for the tips you gave me Nando). Im now on the hunt for one of these older lenses, and can see the need (damn you all anyway) for buying more than one prime lens at the same focal length (and speed!). If you havent seen it, Mr Gandy at his www.cameraquest.com site gives some good breakdowns of the older Leica lenses and corresponding glow offered or not offered by each.
