When this was discussed with SR on RFF, one of the conclusion was, if I remember right, that a digital RF might be more sensitive to curvature of focus plane than film. Results of his review might be bad due to this, more than due to the focus shift.

I think that's a misleading way of expressing it. The digital part of digital/lens system has tighter tolerances than the film part of the film/lens system, so you'll be able to detect problems in lenses that were previously undetectable. That doesn't make the lens any less capable than it was before.

Regardless of whether the problem is with focus shift or field curvature, the latter of which should only effect corner focus, the lens will give no worse performance on an M8 than it would on film. On the M8 you will just be able to see all the warts that the comparitively low resolution of film hides.

All of this assumes of course that the film/sensor are in the same plane of focus. If they aren't, as has been suggested of the Hexar relative to the M, then all bets are off.

There goes more money 😛

I just ordered one of these (and another item.... that.. well.. let's just say i didn't expect them to have.. but it's in Chrome) and I should take delivery sometime either late Monday or Tuesday.

Jack.. neither..
This other thing is only available in chrome right now - I did confirm that it's the new version and not the old version - and it's only made an appearance in certain cities around the world so far (as of today of course).
