The $40 Challenge - The Contenders

OK, I haven't serviced the €15 Revue yet, so I'll put the Minolta in:

Minolta Hi-Matic 7sII, bought from the local classifieds for €30 = $38.98.
Came complete with case and flash in like new condition. With shipping (€4.45) and a battery (€1.4), I'm a bit over the $40 limit at $46.64.
Sorry, the ad is deleted and I didn't keep a screenshot.

Here's the camera:

And here's a shot from a roll of Ilford Delta 100:

I really like the camera and have it with me all the time. My avatar is from the day I shot the photo above.

I don't have a pic of the camera or proof of purchase, but I think I'll throw down anyway!! I picked up my first rangefinder, an Argus C44, while on a motorcycle trip to Colorado at a small antique store for $12. Here are two from it and the trip...

Looking at some of the other photos here though
makes me think I need to invest in some quality B&W film....
Very cool stuff guys!! Maybe one day I'll be cool too!

Are the links working? I can see them on my side...

Rodchenko,

That photo with the dried up horse looking thing in the window is freaking cool... I'll have to post another from the argus to counter :p

Take this Rodchenko! Again, from aforementioned camera and trip. This was in some sort of oddities store in Salida, CO. A pretty cool town actually!!

OK, I've assembled all the stuff I need for my first contender.

Here's the camera:

Asking price was $12, I bought it for $10 plus $5 shipping. I overhauled the camera myself; it is now fully functional at no cost other than that of a little Ronsonol and a few Q-tips.

Here's the proof it works:

I hope to have my other entry, a Rolleiflex 621, ready to go in time, but if not this will at least get me in the running.

An Electro 35 for less than $40 and no POD? You did strike lucky there.

No POD, it makes the most satisfying "clunk", and it obviously has had the light seals replaced fairly recently. :D

Also came with ERC, hard case, and a Vivitar 2800 flash.

OK here is my entry. I won the auction for this Ansco Autoset RF and another camera for right at 27 bucks shipping included. I emailed the seller and said just send the Ansco! It came with a case and I already had a Goodman kit for a Hi Matic. The image is from this camera and cheapo deapo Fuji 200 film. I don't have a screen cap program so I had to copy and paste the Ebay information. Excellent mint condition BTW. An excellent buy by any measure! So here you go the 27 dollar space camera...

Here's my entry. 3 bucks at a street fair (didn't pay 4 like the sticker says). This is a Kodak Baby Brownie from 1939.

Also, first post on RFF.

Going to be a little bit before I can get pictures back, it takes 127 film and I don't have any! Should be interesting. Film already ordered.
