I don't have an X-T1 but I have several other Fuji models. I've always used Sandisk Extreme Pro 32GB cards in the the Fuji cameras from the beginning. At the time I bought my first Fuji, the Extreme Pro had been recommended in reviews so that's what I went with.
I've always been partial to Sandisk and Lexar cards with other cameras although Transcend and Kingston cards worked fine in them as well.

Sandisk Extreme Pro UHS-II 16GB 280MB/s, B&H part SAEPSDU16GBQ.
The 280MB/s figure is pure fantasy, but it's a fast enough card.
Keep in mind Sandisk regularly updates it's "Extreme" and "Extreme Pro" lines, so make sure you do not get old stock of previous-generation cards (or at least pay a discount).
Make sure you get a UHS-II card and that you get it from a reputable vendor, as a huge number of "Sandisk" cards out there are counterfeit.
Beware of Amazon—many third-party vendors sell counterfeit products, and even when you order from Amazon itself, they have something called "commingled inventory" where the card you are buying may be inventory of a third-party merchant. They have apparently started cracking down by requiring sellers of frequently-faked brands to post a bond, but it will take a while to work its way through the system.

At one time, I used bargain quality cards because they stored my images just as well as the more expensive high-quality cards.
However, after I lost a few images due to card failure, I decided to use only high quality cards. I now use SanDisk, Lexar, and Toshiba.
I routinely use cards with average write speed. However, when I am shooting video, I use cards with a faster write speed.

When I asked a local store about that card, they said the expense wasn't necessary unless I shoot video - which I don't.
Can you explain why you chose it? I'm waiting for my pre-ordered X-T2, and I'd appreciate any information you could give me.

I went with the Lexar x2000 uhs-ii as the latest upgrade.
It's dramatically faster. I only shoot single frames and after 45 frames consecutively stopped as I would bever even reach this sort of rate.
The write light stopped flashing 1/2 second after I stop firing..... Very good.
Camera was set to RAW +FINE(Small).
