The decisive moment with the Leica M3

by the way, did you know there is a gallery for members to post their shots ? Because if we all start a thread with our pictures, it is going to be really tough to follow discussions on common topics ;)

I am at a loss to understand..why any photos actually got posted in a thread that is by title..."about a creative process"? Not asking for photos...rather asking for a definition of a Creative Process.

So Yanidel....is this a accurate question after so many photos?

This shot is one of a series I have been working on documenting the destruction of habitat in a small Alberta city. When you live in the fastest-growing city in Canada, you can see the urban sprawl creep out from the fringes of the city like a cancer.

This one is brutal as you can see one of the "machines" has ripped the flesh off the tree while it's still in the ground.

Probably not, especially since I just saw a still excavator in a Decisive moment thread ... ;)
 
Gregory, these recent scans are looking pretty good to me. The pics are hit and miss, but your processing is definitely cleaner. And that Noct is really something, I have to admit.

Yanidel's right, we don't generally just fill threads with our photos here unless we are trying to illustrate something--a lens, a technique, a film, etc. You should put your stuff in the gallery from here on in I think.

Hi Darth, welcome to the dark side :p. I'm at a loss to comment on the comment, so we agree there. But what makes it a bad photo? Composition, exposure, depth of field, subject matter, the fact it's B+W or is it just that you don't like this particular decisive moment? Do you find it objectionable to photograph people helping other people? Do you think I was unfair in capturing this particular moment in time? Just so you know, the lady helping the other lady smiled at me and took no offence to me taking the photo.

Not every picture has to make you happy to be considered good. I'm inspired to take the type of photos that make me "feel" something. If you feel "something" when you look at this picture, then at least that's something.

As far as you coming here and taking a run at me so that the RangeFinderForum can regain a decent reputation :p, that's funny, have at 'er.

Here is a nice decisive moment in a kitty photo that will hopefully put a smile back on your face.

It's not every day you see a family walking together, let alone a family holding a chicken. I really hope this moment is decisive enough for everyone :rolleyes:. If not, please show me a more decisive moment involving a family with a chicken to show me how it's done :p.

Well, that's pretty decisive. That's a Buff Orpington, by the way, a fine and gentle breed of chicken.

It would have been funnier if the chicken were in the stroller, though.
