The Metropolitan Europe

Hi folks.

I've had a project for a while now, called "The Metropolitan Europe". It's a street photography project where I try to cover as many big cities in Europe as possible. It will probably be a lifelong project, but I love doing it.

When I'm doing street, I'm looking for the esthetic picture. Not only the situation. Here's a few of my pictures.

wow, personally your Leica shots have a bit more panache -

I'm sorry, but I've never heard about panache before. What do you mean?

Panache means confident style (in a postive way).

Personally, I like the one of the couple on the tree stump the best. Photographing the big cities in Europe seems like a wonderful project.

Some great shots in there. Rollei really shows some detauil, doesn't it.
A couple of shots (especially the man between ruins) remind me of this famous Bresson photograph:

I applaud the intent, but there is something about the execution that doesn't quite work for me.

Why set out to photograph as rich and varied a topic as the big cities of Europe and then produce a body of work, some of which could have been taken anywhere?

Please don't take this to mean that I was expecting "This is Paris - here is a shot of the Eiffel Tower", but when I read your intro I thought I was going to see a series that captured the essence of some of the great cities and their inhabitants. I like some of these shots but they do not ring out with a sense of place or belonging.
