^-- that's how I roll. 0.85x + 35 FL is my preferred setup. It's impossible if you shoot with glasses on, though.
This is precisely my conundrum.

Just imagine the great things he could have done with a wider range of tools.![]()
Dear Frank,
Exactly. I can understand refining one's eye, in order to be able to choose the right tool for the job.
I can't understand arbitrarily choosing one tool, and turning down all jobs that can't be done with that particular tool. Why not choose a Holga, or a single-use camera?
Anyone else remember the story of Procrustes and his bed?
If not, Google it. It was one of the challenges of Theseus.
Cheers,

If it works for you it works - it all depends on your physical approach and patter combined with visual style. For me, one lens would not be a disaster but a noticeable impediment, but then again I carry what I need rather than an entire toolbox. I could probably shoot 75% of my work on a 35mm, but some of the other 25% are really, really important to me!
when I am feeling in a rut, I pick one camera and a lens or two, very possibly something that makes little practical sense, and walk out of the door. Sometimes it helps, but I would not want to commit to something for beyond the lifespan of my need. If one lens and one camera is how you feel most comfortable then so be it!

That guy? Would make a lousy photographer.
Kept cutting off people's feet...
I did the one camera, one lens thing for years. Kodak Instamatic 150, from when I was 8 until I was 11.

interesting that most of the 'pro limit yourself guys' here...have a ton of gear and not one is actually stepping up to the plate...$$ where your mouths are gentlemen...
and for the record...i spent the first few years of my photo life using one oly 35rc before moving on to interchangeable lens gear.

For the record, I am nota pro "limit yourself to one lens, one camera" guy. When I was 11, I bought another camera. And 13, yet another. Downhill from there.

hmm
hmm
So like one week with the same camera and same 2 lenses?? Not sure about that.
I've done 1 Contax SLR with 50/2 for ~10 years, and 1 other SLR with 50/1.9 lens for ~10 years. Both gave me the worst photos of my life (but good memories).
With the latter, I'm still trying to hunt down a roll or two so I can destroy it :bang:
