Congratulations to Spain. They played very exciting football, and they deserved to win. The German team appeared lame, in comparison.

Only for their whole oeuvre - bringing up so many good players and trainers over the years, football concepts and football intelligence- The Netherlands deserves the world title.
Spain is a great football country, but a lot of their progression is based on dutch school tactics.

The two best countries certainly reach this final, I expect an attractive game with two teams giving everything they have.

I know you've all been wondering about this, but how does Clogger van Bommel get away with kicking opponents from one end of the pitch to the other without yellow cards, getting sent off etc, etc? I mean he's being doing this for years!

Well today in my beloved hometown newspaper the Manchester Grauniad, there's an explanation: "I always try to talk to a referee," he says. "Once I asked a ref where he bought his groceries and I told him where he could get them cheaper. He let me off another foul and then five games later asked me about another shop. You just need to chat with these guys." I wonder if Howard Webb will be in a talkative mood tomorrow...

Spain for me tomorrow BTW. The Netherlands don't match up well. I think Holland - Germany would have been different though.
