About Cambiasso, hard to explain, really hard also Zanetti is unexplicable. Seems to be a personal question with Cambiasso and Veron. About Zanetti, a shame someone says he brings 'bad luck'. IMHO they deserve to be in Southafrica, both of them!
 
Holland has a full score of 9 points, but the total euphoria isn't here yet.
I think we need a big team against us to prove our strength. It has been too easy in this pool.
Holland didn't loose a game for a long time, I've read that many countries said that it is very difficult to play against the dutch team.
As a dutchman I hope they are right !
I am glad to have Japan to accompany us to the next round (Denmark was OK also).
 
Oh my, this WC is getting weirder all the time. I think it's only the second time the acting world champion does not survive the group stage (the first was France in 2002).

Now the acting champions *and* the runners-up are out. I vote we take over and take the thing home (if only the English would agree). :D:D:D
 
I was just looking at the schedule. Group play closes with Chile paying Spain. This may turn into the best game yet this championship.

Agree. I felt really bad for Javier Zanetti, what a fantastic season he has had, and he's an incredible professional.

Weren't those two free kicks just awesome? I have to say I think the goalie was a little bit at fault for both, but the second was just incredibly well executed, everyone thinking that Honda was going to take it. How come these guys can control the ball while everyone else puts it up in the air then blames the ball! :confused:
 
I think nations like Italy or England are paying for what their leagues have become. National players are few on teams like Arsenal, Inter and many others. I really think they should put back restrictions on # of players from out of the country.
 
Was glad to see Italy knocked out, I've never cared for the way Italians play football. I'm supporting Switzerland in the World Cup, since I'm a fan of FC Bayern München and Switzerland's manager is one of the best managers FC Bayern ever had. On a side-note I was in Madrid for the final between Inter and Bayern, fantastic experience even though Bayern lost. Being Scottish I will also of course be supporting whichever team England are playing against :D

Then if the case comes, after Malvinas war, you're ready to support Argentina... Let's hope against Mexico Messi keeps shining as the best player in the cup... Honda from Japan played wonderfully yesterday...

Today we'll see two great matches: Brazil-Portugal and Chile-Spain. Any of them can win... Yet Portugal and Spain can end up being first in their groups... The normal thing would be Brazil and Spain winning, but who knows...

The Italians showed a lot of class upon exiting the field after the game. I suppose it was too bitter a pill to swallow for the geriatric squad!

Hey, Rooney must have an intelligence quotient of the outside temperature in south africa at night (of course in celsius). I expect nothing else from him.
 
Portugal-Spain will be a great match because any of them can win...
