The Rangefinder Forum Book is Available for Sale!!!

I woke up to an email from lulu this morning informing me that my first order has been shipped. They should be on the way to everyone shortly.

Hey,
I got an email from Lulu.com saying my books were shipped out today. Where do they ship from?
Anyone else get their books yet??? Ooow, oow - Come On Postman!

And they're off. The USPS jumps out ahead and moves to the rail........... trailing the pack is the Alberta Royal Canadian Postal Service.

I have to admit, I sent a shameless plug to my friends for this, hopefully they won't mind too much (I really had to talk myself into doing that, I'm NOT anything close to being a salesman). I distinctly remember volunteering for book two if this one sold well, guess I'd better get serious about getting some quality shots in 🙂.

I actually only told my immediate family about this yesterday and they were pretty amazed. It was nice to hear from Rich on Gene's blog. My order is on its way and the book is now up to 54 on the Lulu best-sellers list! 🙂

Well, when I returned home from Best Buy picking up a external backup disk for housing my images, I found a package from LuLu. I didn't hesitate to open it right up and inspect the contents.

Honestly, I didn't expect a lot of quality when I first got involved in the project because I had no idea of the quality level an on demand printing solution could accomplish. I felt it would probably be good, but I still had reservations. Well, those were put to bed once I opened the package. The printing quality is very good. The cover is a high grade glossy stock, perfect binding well done, and the individual pages are all nicely printed. Overall, I think everyone will be quite pleased with the results. The only thing I would change would be the size of the fonts. They just feel slightly large to me, almost like those large print books for people with poor eyesight. Its not at all unsightly, just larger than I think I would have choosen. But still very impressive and professional overall.

So, kudos to everyone for pulling this all together!!!!! It looks fantastic.

Gene, I just looked at your blog site. Lovely. Elegant. And all sorts of other good comments. I think I will sign up there too. Not having quite enough to do right here...

Can't wait to see the book.

Linda (the lone lady in the rff book. such good company!) 😛

Ditto what Steve says. I got my book today, and wow, am I impressed. I think the font size is fine, but that is just a difference in taste. The quality is excellent, and the photos are good too 😀.
