Another great shot Nick. You're going to think I'm gear-stalking you or something, but I also just got a 105mm f/2.8 (mine is a Super Takumar). These beautiful old lenses are addictive.

There was a time when all I really collected were Takumar lenses in M42. Then I went nuts with GAS and ended up buying many other lens types over a period of around 25 years. But I still love those darned Taks. They are hard to beat for character.

You're going to think I'm gear-stalking you or something, but I also just got a 105mm f/2.8 (mine is a Super Takumar).

The 105/f2.8 is a bit of a no-brainer in my view. Great in all the ways Takumars are usually great, but easy to find cheap and much, much more affordable than the more exotic options (like any of the 85mm versions).

I shot this candid image of an old gent on a bus years ago with a Late SMC Takumar 105mm. It was perhaps the first time that this lens impressed me with its quality - not that I ever doubted it but rather because I had not tried it seriously before.
