The Werra is a great bit of design, with smooth surfaces on it, and all the controls, including the wind, falling naturally to the hand.

I would be comfortable giving the title to any of these:

What can I say, I really think it is ugly. Lens to body proportion is all wrong.

i guess the "uglyness" of the hassy relies in the fact is a mock up build around an existing camera...a mock up with great pretensions, i remember that beetle with rolls royce grill, but that one was a joke...this one is not...it´s more expensive than a leica m-e!!!

Those Fujifilm Instax cameras are absolutely sleek compared to the old Kodak "Colorburst" instants.

Member 'majid' beat me to it, the Contarex bullseye.
Of course every one's opinion will be different. Based upon general knowledge of camera history.
There was a camera sold door to door back in the 60's, The Triad Corp. Fotron that was in the top ten for ugly, at least.

Its funny you know, I would not class the Bullseye as ugly. To me its certainly unique but not ugly. "Purposeful" perhaps in the same way that the old cold war aircraft the F4 Phantom has been described as purposeful. Solid and Germanic certainly.
Now when it comes to ugly I would class the old US camera Argus camera as ugly - commonly known as the "brick" as this was its shape - brick like rectangular and no frills and........uuuuuuuuuugly
If it were a person I would feel free to describe it as having a "face like a navvies grandma" or a "head like a robbers dog" two humorous Australian (originally British) epithets for someone who fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down as they say in the US.
(An even better one I heard was a description of a member of the fairer sex as having "arms like a navvy and a face like dried fruit")
Enough to put a man off his drink........or drive him to it.

Just to stirr thing up: maybe not the ugliest, but certainly an ugly camera in my eyes: the Olympus OM-D. I know it has its share of fans, but really? What is it but a wannabe manual focus camera? Why does it have that ugly bump for its EVF? Compared to to the Sony Nex 7 camera it is form over function, while the Sony is function over form.
And that Hassy, it is a bold statement and I like bold statements....
I agree - it is a real kitch and I still can´t understand why so many people think it is sooooooo cooool...

I don't know, it's rather like a prop from Babylon 5. I could just imagine Londo snapping his latest girl friend with it.
