The sad thing is that he will buy another MP 6 months after he sells.

Heck, keep the MP and your 2 favorite lenses and you can still afford your DSLR dream kit and have some left for the bank.
 
DSLR just don't hold value at all.

If I my say, just sell three lenses that you like the least and sell the M8 too... Then get the pentax K10d plus 50mm 1.4, 24 f2 and 85 f1.4 that is just right for the money. DSLR will cost nothing in 5 years or so...

Just think that digital imaging is in its early state, and the dynamic range of every digi sensor camera out there, from the M8 to the cheapest digicam is very very narrow.
Fuji has a better ccd sensor! Now just imagine than in 5 years a new sensor shows up thats will have a better dynamic range better color depth etc... All your expensive gear today will then be reduced to nothing... Bad investment...

Selling everything seems crazy to my eyes!
 
D200 and 3 ED lenses and M2 with 3 classic lenses. 22K in the bank!

I'll trade you my first wife for a lens cap, front or back your choice, generic is fine. The most expensive lens cap in history, $250K.
 
Why buy Nikon if you don't already have a significant investment in the lenses? iF you're starting from scratch go smart and go Canon. Or at least wait for the Fuji S5. It will blow the doors off any Nikon!

Don't go that route. I owned the D200 (fantastic camera), but sure as heck not a reason to sell 26K worth of gear. You must have other, bigger ideas in your head if you're selling everything.

Maybe you want to buy an H3D kit?
 
Erwin Puts did this last year and he came back to Leica (not that everybody seems happy about that)........ BTW, you can get a very nice DSLR kit for 5000$. 26k$ is neither here nor there in comparison.😉
