I have lost my mind and am now seriously thinking of going DSLR 100%. I have a lot invested in the Leica gear and would rather put the money to better use. Regardless If I sell, it will be the complete kit. I do not want to break it up. Breaking it up will leave me with regretful feelings while I still see bits laying around. If I sell it as an entire kit it is all gone at once. So here you go.

All is like new with original box.

The ultimate Sin!! Leica sale

You obviously know that the only serious buyer, in all probability, is a major dealer who would then resell them one by one...

I've got about $1200 in the bank, and a rebuilt honda transmission I'll swap. ;)

Am I close? (Sinner!)

I'm not sure I agree with you on going dSLR, but only you can evaluate how you shoot and why.

(Sure you don't want to keep the MP and the 50 lux for your ancestors to fondle?)

I could trade you my canon kit straight across....I mean it is worth less than 5k but you know that 5d is a nice camera...what do you say...

Jorge:

You probably will be more likely to sell it if you break it up. $26K is a major bite for most folks. I hate to say it but put it on evilbay, you'll do very well an probably make more on the M8 than you paid for it.

I don't know what you shoot normally but you can buy some very fine gear for that. If you want to sink some money in a truly remarkable camera that should do everything you will ever want look at the canon 1DsII and L primes. That's what I shoot in my commercial studio and it's the finest in 35mm format digital.

It's bigger but it's super quality. Look at the 24 1.4, 35 1.4, 50 f1.2, 85 1.2 and 135 f2. I don't have the 50 1.2 but have the rest plus some more and find them above the rest in slr lenses. OOPS! forgot about the 5D, excellent!!

With the extra leftover you could buy a nice used M2 and three classic lenses.

Jorge,

You just floored me. I thought you really liked the M8 and had just transitioned completely (last year) from the R9/DMR to rangefinders.

Best of luck,

Ray

First he sells the site...then he sells the gear... Makes sense.

Would you consider breaking it up or do you want to sell it as a bundle?

this thread will disappear in a couple hours and we'll have a "did we really see that thread?" topic like with the "im selling my M8" one before :)

i'm sorry jorge, i'll have to delete this thread.
you'll have to put this in the classifieds like everyone else.

stephen says so...;)

Ash,

You crack me up :) So true ....

Ray, I had the R9/DMR Combo and loved it. Unfortunately that set up is doomed with no more support for it. I am seriously thinking Nikon with the Zeiss lenses. And with the left over money in the bank.

Buy a Rebel XT, a laptop and go around the world with the rest of the $$. Sounds like a good plan to me...

Jorge, I'm not convinced that you have any real interest in photography. You just seem to buy gear (and lots of it), decide it's not for you and then sell it shortly afterwards. You did it with the DMR and now your doing it with the M gear. Slow down, think what you really want and if necessary take up another hobby.

Jorge, as others have said, I'm sure you don't really wanna sell the gear.

Maybe you could send it all to me to borrow for a short while. You can use your dslr's, and when you decide you want a rangefinder again I'll post all the kit back to you.... maybe.... :D

Good point Steve. However, I love photography but am one of those guys that thinks the grass is always greener on the other side. Since I cannot afford to buy all the gear I really want, I just buy what I want for the time being and when I get the itch to try something different I sell and buy again. A friend is doing a good job on convincing me to go the D200 / D2x route. So, lets see what happens. Maybe it's just the moon or something and this thread will go away when Joe realizes I broke the for sale rules.
