Walking home from work the other day, I decided to take my camera along with me. The 45 minute walk home isn't very exciting nor fun, but I was pleasantly surprised how well the images turned out. Might have to take the camera along more often.

All shot on Fuji Neopan 400 developed in XTOL 1:1.

Feedback is welcome and encouraged - I'm always looking to improve all aspects of my photography, whether it's composition, development etc.

Well done - reinforces the old adage : 'always carry a camera'! also a pleasant way to 'wind down' after a day's work! :)
Cheers, Dave.

I like the first three a lot. What's in the last one, is that a bat? I carry either an OM-4T or a Leica at all times. Comes in very handy!

I do like the last two. Something out of the ordinary.
Only niggle with the last shot is the top right corner and the strong vignetting on the left side.

Nevertheless, I like the roughness of them.

Thank you for all the comments thus far. Greatly appreciated!

To Chris, they are indeed fruit bats. We have a large number of them living close by to my house and they scare the bejeezus out of me when they're flying past, especially in the dark. Nevertheless, it looks fantastic when there's a couple of them flying over my head and I've always wanted a take a picture - but on that day, just the one flew past.

A question though - is Neopan 400 usually that grainy? I thought Neopan was quite fine-grained, especially when developed in XTOL. Not that I mind to be honest, adds to the look I suppose. Maybe I'll agitate a bit less next time.

I like the graininess, especially in the fruit-bat photo. I assume these are scanned from 35mm negatives? Some of the grain may be from the scanning of the neg (grain-aliasing?).

Thank you for all the comments.

To Boklm, the city is the Gold Coast in Australia, about a 10 hour drive north of Sydney.

To Chris, I like the grain as well, just was a bit suprised at how much there was. I don't recall my previous scans of Neopan being like this - I'll have to check out grain-aliasing. Thanks.
