the x-pro size...

Me too. The only reason to use RRS is if you need tripod work IMHO.

I sometimes carry the xp1 the normal neck strap wrapped around my wrist instead for extended periods of time, the grip really helps here. But I also don't like the default grip that much, I tend to like a deeper grip then that. For me the deeper grip helps me control the smoothness of the shutter release..

do you use a soft release?
the mini softie works well on the fujis.

No soft release.. Tried them and could never get used to them plus they alway seemed to drop off and get lost in the past.

one of the things that i didn't care for with the x-pro1 was it's size...especially when compared to the size of the x-e1.

when i bought the xp1 i also bought the grip...eventually found one for the x-e1 as well. i like grips and if available i put them on all my cameras...but after using the x-p1 as my primary camera for a few weeks and removing the grip i find that i am really liking it's size quite a bit.
the x-pro1 is a very comfortable camera in use and the dual finder is great.

i still enjoy the x-e1 and look forward to attaching the fuji 27 pancake to it and using it as a semi-permanent combo.

With you 100% my friend...

I used to be a smaller is better type...but the X-Pro1 is perfect size for me. The X100s is too small, but deal with it because it is so good. I hate grips.

damn!
after using the x-pro1 exclusively for a few outings...now the x-e1 feels too small!

I know what you mean... I go back and forth on that, but what really should be is that all the buttons should be in the exact same place on them.

What marketing genius decided they should be different ... And then they market the xe1 as a backup to the xp1????

The X-Pro1 is my favorite feeling camera... in hand. I've always prefered gripless cameras and thought the built in grip would annoy me, but it doesn't.

I pretty much agree with you...but have you tried it with a ThumbsUp?

That made it into the perfect fit for me.

I used to use the thumbs up with my M cameras, but since I like to wear my camera around my neck, it poked into my chest too much. Some shirts got ripped and my chest started to hurt there since I have no muscles. :)
