I would say there's not really a technical reason to shoot digital either. A good photograph is a good photograph whichever way it was shot. My own preference for film is that I don't like cameras that look like molten blobs of whatever they are made from and I like to have a physical archive of negatives. if camera technology became of overriding importance then decades of photogrphs once regarded as great would have to be asigned to the bin. A ludicrous idea.

Confessing that I haven't read the full three pages of this thread, this comment looks like a non sequitor if there ever was one. Also, there is no reason for technology to become of overriding importance, unless one lives in a places where it is impractical to get the materials necessary for film photography.
