Well it was a day later then expected, but today student services here had a package waiting for me.
I unpacked the T first and attached the CV 21 right away. Loaded the batteries and headed out to shoot my first roll. To be honest, i only had a few minutes before I had to head back to class so only shot about a dozen frames.
Since it has been about 17 years since my last rangefinder, I had to get used to the focusing method again, but I wasn't at all affected by the need to switch from RF to viewfinder.
Things I liked over my SLR's:
1) Tiny: wow that's a small lens
2) quiet: much quieter then even my DSLR, but not as quiet as the leaf shutter RF I started with.
3) easy to handle with a fraction of the weight of even my lightest SLR/lens combo.
4) complete and easy to use DOF scale on the lens.
Things I didn't like:
1) not quite enough eyepoint for me to comfortably use with my glasses
2) hard to see the LED meter in bright sun.
During my first break I broke out the R2M with the 50 f2 Heliar. What a nice machine. I haven't loaded any film in it, but a very nice feel. Reminds me a lot of my older Nikons but much smaller of course. I will have to give it a test run here in the next couple of days.
Here are some portraits of the cameras (no scanner at school so shots from the cameras themselves will have to wait a bit). The last one is a comparison between my D2x w/24mm f2.8 Nikkor and the Bessa T w/ CV 21 f4 and VF.
