been playing around with my gear and a couple of domkes...moving things around setting up kits...it hit me after awhile that i had set up my gear the same as i had set up my rf kits...i had a fast kit, a slow kit and a 40mm lens for comfort.

so i paired the xe3 with my 56, the xt20 with the 16 and added the 23 into a f6...not as heavy as i feared...gonna carry it around for a week and see.

Joe, I admire how organized you are about the kit selections! I just go on a whim as to which body and which lens I'll take at any given time. Then just shoot pics that make use of what I'm carrying. I keep thinking that two bodies with different lenses would be really versatile but I seldom break out the "extra" body and lens. On my recent trip to Colorado I just used the 28-equivalent for everything and never touched the 80-equiv and left the bag in the car trunk. On a trip years ago to Puerto Rico I packed a bag with two Contax G2 bodies and three lenses. Walking about, I grabbed whichever camera/lens was appropriate for a shot, and that worked out fine.... except, man that bag got heavy! Have fun... 🙂

There are all manner of ways to setup your kit. That looks good, Joe.

My own recent habit is so simple: the M-D is in the bag with the 35mm on it and the 50mm sitting next to it 'just in case'. The SL is in the bag with the 60mm macro on it, and if I need something else, I pull out the SL24-90.

I haven't used anything else, other than my iPhone, for over two months. 😀

joe, 56 & 16, on a couple bodies, that's my all-around set-up too. light enough and gives me wider or tighter with speed.

i use a messenger bag converted for camera duty. wide, long strap, form-fitting, pretty inconspicuous. i admire domke bags but their straps are too short for my frame.

I use three different bags. Two Domke bags for my Nikon Df gear. One is a bigger bag that I use mostly for storing lenses and other stuff. A smaller Domke bag is used as a shooting bag. And then I have a very small generic bag for my Nikon Coolpix A. I have downsized tremendously over the years and it is great.

Just wondering if I'm the only one who is in the process of getting one kit bag for each of my cameras and its bits? At present I've got 7 cameras and I'll end up with 7 bags with bits in. This is so that I can just grab a bag and go.

I'm also pretty sure that I'll have trouble fitting all into my walk-in closet which ahs all my dvds and all my books as well...

the straps on the f6 seem longer than on other domkes...i have a big belly and also like a longer strap...also one of the reasons i like the lance camera strap...
