Do go to the ICP. There's an incredible exhibit of Lewis Hine photography there at the moment, and get the catalog while you're there - beautifully printed. Also there's a brilliantly staged Macbeth by the Lincoln Center Theater at the Vivian Beaumont; well worth seeing.I seem to recall the International Center for Photography was easy to get to and well worth the admission

Another gallery worth a visit is Hous Projects, on Howard Street between Broadway and Lafayette, one block north of Canal. They're a block and a bit from the Canal Street subway stop for the N & R lines.

Seriously, watch out for bikes if you walk over de Brooklyn bridge. There is construction that narrows de walkway.
Boom. Done.

Try to get to the Howard Greenburg Gallery on 57th st. They always have a great show up. Not sure about their hours during the holiday season though.

Nothing wrong with walking in NYC. It's the best way to see anything and everything.
