Hello all!

Got my first Leica wednesday and finally I managed to develop my first roll (Efke KB 100). I´ll have to admit, that I´m still amazed of the quality my roll came out. And I´m amazed of the build quality of this equipment, mechanics work just like they should. I´ve used some Zorki´s and FED´s before so I´m not completely new to the rangefinders.

I bought my M6 with 35mm Summicron-M, 90mm Elmarit and 15mm CV Heliar with a viewfinder. I got it at a really fair price (a bit over 2000 euros which equals ~2500USD). Body and 35mm requires a CLA, because all shutters speeds don´t turn on the light meter properly. And the aperture on my 35mm won´t open completely (at f2 aperture blades are closed for the amount of 2/3 stops). Full CLA won´t of course cost me a thing, all expenses go to the store which sold me this set.

Now I´ll grab my Leica and 35mm Summicron and head out to the city!

Enjoy the camera :) Just a note, if I can make out the serial number, your 'Cron is type IV and it is normal for the aperture not opening fully. But since the CLA is free, no harm letting the store have a look.

Really? If I meter a white wall with my 90mm at f2.8 and my 35mm at f2.8 I have to compensate 2/3 stops up with 35mm if I want to get the same results (I have to open up almost to f2).

That's indeed normal for a type IV 'cron, mine does it too. It's not a bug it's a feature!

Nice set you've got, enjoy! I've stumbled across a CV 15mm yesterday, 299 euro's with viewfinder. Tempting... :D

If you are reading the same area of the wall, ie not reduced size with the 90, the readings will be the same.

DO NOT ever use the lens full open to check anything. Most all my leica lenses seem not to give a full stop more light by the meter when opening from the next to full open stop.

Check them both at 4 or 5.6 and move in with the 35 so the same area is covered.

I can`t remember if my 35 IV opens full and it inaccessable now.

Ok, I´ll try that. I´ll still have it checked with my body, because of the aperture ring that doesn´t stop at "2" but keeps going for almost a half stop... Thanks for yor help!

Congratulations for your set ! Hope to see more pics in future ! I like the fourth one (leica 001) you attaches. bye

Tried measuring @ f5.6 and 1/125s and everything worked perfectly. With slower speeds there´s some problems, but CLA should do the trick. Beautiful camera.

teemu.laine welcome to the forum, and to the land of Leica.

Good luck with the CLA, the built in meter of the M6 is really useful as well. Have fun with the CV15, a lovely lens who's quality far exceeds its price

Just came back from Helsinki Motorcycle Exhibitionl, shot few rolls of t-max and tomorrow i´ll have to develop ´em in X-TOL. I used CV 15mm a lot and took some test shots with my 90mm also. Can´t wait to see the results!

Terve!
I bought it from Rajala Camera in Turku, This set was there for few months with almost 1000 euros higher price tag and I decided to give an offer to see if the seller would accept it. And he/she did.
