Well-known
After a few cocktails last night with my buddies we got to talking about the M8 and some of the responses here on RFf to it’s “issues”. It then occurred to me a very funny parallel exists between the M8 “compromises” and it’s supporters and distractors to a scene from the film “This is Spinal Tap.”
Here let me show you what I mean. I’ll use inspired words from your good friend and mine, none other then Nigel Tufnell Lead Guitar Spinal Tap-
Nigel: "You see, most blokes will be playing at 10. You’re on 10, all the way up, all the way up...Where can you go from there? Nowhere. What we do, is if we need that extra push over the cliff...Eleven. One louder." DiBergi: "Why don’t you just make 10 louder and make 10 be the top number, and make that a little louder?" Nigel (after taking a moment to let this sink in): "These go to 11."
Try this: The Anti-Leica “The IR cut filters are an obvious easy out for Leica. They missed the issue of color shift and are now trying to screw their customers” Leica Lover “Yes but if Leica had corrected for this in any other way the overall image would have been compromised or we would most likely be dealing with a 1.5 crop factor” The Anti-Leica (after taking a moment to let this sink in): “Yes but Leica is trying to screw the customer” rinse and repeat.
